Surah 2: Selected Verses

  1. As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. Quran 2:6
  2. Theirs will be an awful doom. Quran 2:7
  3. In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. Quran 2:10
  4. Shall we believe as the foolish believe? Quran 2:13
  5. Allah (Himself) doth mock them, leaving them to wander blindly. Quran 2:15

  9. And if ye do it not - and ye can never do it - then guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stones. Quran 2:24
  10. Unto those who believe and do good works ... There for them are pure companions. Quran 2:25
  11. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. Quran 2:29
  12. He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful. Quran 2:31
  13. We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He demurred through pride, and so became a disbeliever. Quran 2:34
  14. They who disbelieve, and deny Our revelations, such are rightful Peoples of the Fire. They will abide therein. Quran 2:39
  15. We ... drowned the folk of Pharaoh in your sight. Quran 2:50

  32. Those who have no knowledge say: Why doth not Allah speak unto us, or some sign come unto us? Quran 2:118

  46. He who transgresseth after this will have a painful doom. Quran 2:178
  47. It is made lawful for you to go in unto your wives on the night of the fast ... So hold intercourse with them. Quran 2:187
  48. Fight in the way of Allah. Quran 2:190

  56. Wed not idolatresses till they believe; for lo! a believing bondwoman is better than an idolatress though she please you. Quran 2:221
  57. Give not your daughters in marriage to idolaters till they believe, for lo! a believing slave is better than an idolater though he please you. These invite unto the Fire. Quran 2:221
  58. Menstruation ... is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not in unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you. Quran 2:222
  59. Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will. Quran 2:223
  60. Fight in the way of Allah. Quran 2:244
  61. The disbelievers, they are the wrong-doers. Quran 2:254
